On Thursday we read the story Pumpkin Soup as we carved pumpkins. This led to one pupil asking to make pumpkin soup and searched for recipes. On Friday a small group of pupils went to the shop to buy the items and then we got cooking as well as harvesting our leeks we’ve grown in our raised bed and chives that were also grown in the courtyard.
The pupils the chopped up all the items using real tools such as knives and peelers.
We cooked it all in a pan on our cooker and then had a class tasting. Almost all the pupils wanted two helpings.
